Baptism of The Holy Spirit

Did you know that all of the early church had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues? As a matter of fact the Church was birthed on the Day of Pentecost with power, fire, tongues and prophecy when the Holy Spirit was poured out. in other words there was no such thing as a non- pentecostal church. (see acts Ch2) The early church actually looked at the outpouring of the Spirit as proof that God confirmed that the gospel was given to the gentiles for the first time. (Acts 10:44-46) While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message .All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed ,because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God.” The gospel of Jesus Christ was and continues to be a Spirit filled gospel. Further proof of this is found in Acts 19:1-7 Paul asked them did you receive the Holy Spirit when you first believed? They were saved but not filled with the Spirit so Paul laid his hands on them and Holy Spirit came upon them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying see vs. 6. Why was this the first question the apostle asked them? I believe that it was he deemed it an essential part of the christian faith and very important. Much of the Western church teaches and interprets the scriptures from a cessationist mindset, which simply put says that all the gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit as described in the book of Acts 2 and 1 Corinth 12,13,14 passed away with the death of the last apostle and that argument would hold water if they were the manifestations of the apostles, but they are the gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit and He didn’t die and He is still present in the earth today. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is still available to believers today, Thank God because it is God’s enduement with power from on high ,“The Promise of the Father”. You can still receive this gift today . Luke 11:13 says” If you , being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask, just ask. Have someone who is Spirit Filled lay their hands upon you and receive the Baptism of The Holy Spirit just like you received your salvation ,by faith. Receive the gift of God! Jesus purchased it for you, and He is the baptizer in The Holy Ghost. Hallelujah!!!!
